Turtle Soup anyone?

My two red-earred water turtles are peering at me with their little beady eyes from their separate tanks. Okay, one's in a tank and the other is in a sterlite tupperware with no lid. They used to live together in the aquarium. They both used to be the size of quarters. Now one is so large, I can barely hold it up by the sides of its shell with one hand. And they're separated because one decided to pick on the other by biting on and not letting go. So Mr. Mean Turtle is living in a temporary Sterlite Prison until he learns his lesson.

I was trying to figure out just how old these 2 goofballs are... and i found an old video file i made when they were tiny... and that was dated May 1998!! Holy Moly! They're at least 6 years old!!!

Paparazzi Family

The joys of holiday gatherings! When we were little it was all about lots of people, lots of noise, and eating too much. Now that we're all adults, it's all about digital cameras and flashes and "Look over here!" Then at the end of the day everyone exchanges memory cards and gets a multiple angles of the moments of the day... :)

Didn't do too much After Thankgsiving Shopping this year, but i hear the lines were horrendously long as usual.. and so i probably didn't miss too much. Plus those types of sales, you usually end up buying more for yourself than shrink your christmas list... :)

But the weather is sure starting to feel wintery- isn't it? :)

Did you read about the $40 Million settlement with Abercrombie & Finch? Let that be the last time a big company favors one ethnicity over all others... You've got to read some of the stories of people blatantly hidden in the back of the stores, not getting re-hired because there were too many others of their race already working there, etc!

I haven't heard any raving reviews of this movie, but the fact that Tom Hanks is involved always makes a movie better for me. But other than for Tom Hanks, i wasn't expecting much. I'm glad to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It had MORE action than i thought it could. There were definitely some BREATH-TAKING scenes too. (If you're going to try to do Life-Like Animations, you better do some IMPOSSIBLE shots, or else why not just hire actors!) And I would need to survey a bunch of little kids to verify this, but I am thinking that this might be a fun movie for little kids who are on the brink of realizing Santa Claus isn't real... or is he??? :)

I will find out later today if Herman was one of the lucky customers to purchase Halo today. I'm curious if there were lines outside these store's doors... Anyone camp out?

Apparently it will sell $100 Million in FIRST DAY sales. Not too shabby.

So for a game so well recieved... you'd think they'd spend a few extra bucks on their site, you know?


The optimistic person would say, they wanted to concentrate every penny to the perfection of Halo 2. The pessimistic person would say, they wanted to concentrate every penny to their pockets because they know enhancing their website won't make fans want the game any less...

Stay away from this bottled mocha...

I bought a 4 pack of this new Wolfgang Puck's "Gourmet Rich Mocha Latte" and it's GROSS.

I should have known a bottled chilled mocha beverage that is larger than the Starbuck's version and 3 bucks cheaper for the 4-pack - could taste so bleack!

THEN i went to the website and realized that even though Ralphs only carried bottles that boasted "Low Carb, Low Fat, Low Calories" - the company does offer Normal Fattening versions! I bet those would taste 10 Times BETTER! They just didn't have any in stock! sigh.... now i have to finish 3 more of these milky tasting beverages...

Chilly fingers

It's getting chilly around here!

It's weird when my fingers get so cold they type slower too! I need to find where my fingerless gloves went... those things work! :) I'll look a bit like i'm from the 80s, but that's okay.

getting giddy with it

I wrote a nice long blog yesterday and what happens? I lose it from some kind of time-out error.

sigh.

Basically i was getting giddy about the holidays and how i was already starting to scope out Christmas Gift ideas... and I got one gift that i think is soo cute i want to keep it for myself, but i don't need it and so i'm just going to admire it until it's time to wrap it up. :)

I love this little webcam thing too, so here it is again... A Real-time Glimpse at LA!
