Out with the bad... in with the good... please.

Hope everyone's Christmas or Holiday weekend was MERRY!

I traveled a few hours by highway to spend it with my folks and it was a nice time. It had it's fun moments and the oh-my-gosh-we-left-some-gifts-at-home-oh wait-here-it-is moments and no family gathering is complete without some heated squabble now and then. But all in all it was a great time and "Opening gifts Part" was pretty cool too.

I don't know why I feel like 2004 has been a rather tough year in general, and that 2005 will be the "Good" year. The year where great memories will be made and I'll learn how to handle stress better and maybe take a better inventory of the things that make life good and surround myself with more of that. When you have spontaneous get togethers with friends you haven't seen in a long time... you realize that this is one of the gems of life... the friendships and joy of being with cool people.

The Tsunami Tragedy in Asia is heart breaking. So many people's lives wiped away so quickly. A reminder that no matter how much we invent things to sustain life or even a certain lifestyle... that nature can just turn an angry face and show the world whose boss. I just hope that some good will come of it... that the world comes together if only for a moment to help and offer aid.

Well, since i'm on this animated gif kick, I thought this cute little father time would be appropriate. :)

Have a wonderful and SAFE New Years.

Mad Rush to the Stores

Are you in this picture?

I think I am actually done with my shopping... WOW! Good thing too... I drive by certain shopping centers on my way home from work and they are MAD houses. I would NOT want to be a driver in one of those cars trying to park, or get out of a parking spot. Or don't you hate that feeling when you're leaving a store and going to your car, that the vultures are after your spot? Even though the next minute you're that vulture hovering after shoppers walking back to their cars at the next store you're suppose to go to?

BUT i do have some gift wrapping to do... and i'm not sure why i'm procrastinating by sitting here surfing the internet and updating my blog.

Get to work JEN!

Okay Okay! Geez...

I must get back to my wrapping... (or get side tracked in between me sending this blog up and getting up off my computer...)

Welcome to Monrovia

Today was fun! I visited my college buddy in her new town of Monrovia.

It's near Pasadena and she's a block away from the cutest little old town street, filled with antique stores, boutiques and mom & pop shops! It's the wonder of southern california, how you can drive 25 miles in a certain direction and arrive in a place so different from the one you came from, and be so happy at it's uniqueness!

Another bit of southern california-ism - it was 80 degrees today. And yes, Christmas is 7 days away. People in shorts and sunglasses were strolling down the streets with their puppies. We had lunch out on the sidewalk patio area because it was just too nice out to waste!

Later on in the evening, Herman and I ventured to my coworker's pad in Burbank, who was hosting a Holiday Movie Night. I think he's trying to make the guiness book for most DVDs owned. He should become a librarian, he's pretty good at categorizing them so he could find any title. I envision his house someday to contain one of those walls of shelves... filled with DVDs... and one of those ladders on wheels that slide back and forth along the wall of endless movies...

I have a few more christmas gifts left, so hopefully i figure them all out by tomorrow... :) So glad this next work week is only 3 days! whooo hooo!

Lawsuit for hearing a bad word on a CD? sheesh...

Another ridiculous lawsuit i saw in the news:

Wal-Mart Sued Over Evanescence Lyrics
Click to read Yahoo News article...

I mean, yeah, so Wal-Mart makes a lot of money and if they say they don't sell music that has those "parental guidance' things... that's their business.

But for someone to buy a CD, hear a bad word, and flip out? That's just ridiculous. If parents are that paranoid that hearing a word will warp their kids into evil hell-bound creatures, then they should screen EVERYTHING before handing it over to their kids anyway. What freakazoids.

Roses are red, Violet was on sale...

A random cruise through the local mall stopped us at a Buy one get one free sale at the Disney Store.

And I just couldn't resist getting this doll... (Only 1 doll... we got something else as the 'free')

I guess it's my subconscious desire to have long healthy hair, a big head with big eyes, fit into skinny clothes & skinny boots and have secret super hero powers.
