Welcome to Monrovia

Today was fun! I visited my college buddy in her new town of Monrovia.

It's near Pasadena and she's a block away from the cutest little old town street, filled with antique stores, boutiques and mom & pop shops! It's the wonder of southern california, how you can drive 25 miles in a certain direction and arrive in a place so different from the one you came from, and be so happy at it's uniqueness!

Another bit of southern california-ism - it was 80 degrees today. And yes, Christmas is 7 days away. People in shorts and sunglasses were strolling down the streets with their puppies. We had lunch out on the sidewalk patio area because it was just too nice out to waste!

Later on in the evening, Herman and I ventured to my coworker's pad in Burbank, who was hosting a Holiday Movie Night. I think he's trying to make the guiness book for most DVDs owned. He should become a librarian, he's pretty good at categorizing them so he could find any title. I envision his house someday to contain one of those walls of shelves... filled with DVDs... and one of those ladders on wheels that slide back and forth along the wall of endless movies...

I have a few more christmas gifts left, so hopefully i figure them all out by tomorrow... :) So glad this next work week is only 3 days! whooo hooo!
