Recent CD Purchases

I'm all about advocating EBAY purchases... but lately, i've (egad!) been a legitimate "New CD" purchaser! I guess instant gratification is getting the better of me... (plus i can resell these on ebay and make some $ back later - when i get bored with the cds)

Recent purchases:

Today:

Madonna: Confessions on a Dance Floor - A-
I didn't expect to go run out and buy this on release day, mainly because i thought this CD was just a dance remix of her old stuff. But a coworker sent me a streaming audio link to the full CD... and by golly i was hooked! Plus Madonna is my girl... My first cassette tape was hers, and i'd like to think that my music choice was so stellar as a kid - that the same artist could still remain a mainstream artist today.

Few Weeks Ago:

Fiona Apple: Extraordinary Machine - B-
Fiona's voice rocks, and her songs are never just fluffy words that rhyme. I think her other album (with the crazy long title) had more stand out songs, but this album isn't bad. She tries to get theatrical with her songs which is kinda cool... and the DVD extras are a nice bonus too.

Ashlee Simpson: I Am Me - B
Will people just get over the whole, "she lip syncs" thing? This girl sings better than most would admit - in fact it's amazing her singing voice sounds so good when her speaking sounds so awkward. Nonetheless, her album has upbeat songs and sappy romantic ballads too. The song "L.O.V.E." is hilarious (not intentionally) and sounds like she's saying "hello" with an irish/english accent.

Sunday Sentiments

I feel like it was just a few days ago when i was telling myself, "Boy, the first few months of 2005 are really flying by!" And suddenly I'm staring Thanksgiving straight in the face.

These past few weeks were particularly chaotic... and lots of unexpected changes at work. I know I'm going to walk into a cubicle of a coworker who's last day was friday and for 2 seconds wonder why it's empty...

Actually it could still look somewhat inhabited since we piled that space with so much confetti, streamers and balloons - I bet the janitors are afraid to touch it. :)

Hey, got some good vacuuming done today though! And prepped the place for some future houseguests. One room is still a bit messy but some last hour tidying should do the trick. Oops, i just realized i forgot the clean the turtle tanks. Okay, maybe the last 2 hour tidying will do the trick.
My Daydream Escape for the day:

Property #609 - Beautiful Kailua Beachfront Suite

$190 a day for 7 days...
