Rain & Sun & New Blogs

Rain in Southern Cal!

It's good for the plants, but Barklee cowers in fear of getting rained on - so he doesn't go do his 'business' in the grassy areas. I am wondering what will happen when the rain becomes non-stop... is he just going to hold it in? Probably not.

Oh yes, and Barklee is our current name for Paco. It's slightly an ode to Basketball's Charles Barkley, and it's just cute as a dog name because of "Bark". :)

Meanwhile, I have a bid on a Hubcap on Ebay now. I probably won't win it, but I'm in no rush, so at some point I may have 4 matching hubcaps again. :)

And now that Barklee is getting more comfortable being part of the family ... I see him eyeing my web browsing... it's quite possible you'll be seeing a new blog soon... Barklee's Blog does have a nice ring to it...

Is it time?

I'm a creature of habit and can sometimes get too comfortable with stability and predictability. But as the lives of those around me change and grow and experience new things ... the nagging voice that's telling me to take new risks and step in new directions...is starting to get louder.

What will things be like by... let's say April 1? It could be exactly the same... it could be a little worse... or it could be SO much better. For now, i'll just babble in vagueness...

What a sweeetie!!!

So far, we've struck gold with our first foster doggie... Gosh... if things keep going the way it's going (it hasn't even been 24 hours yet, though so a lot could happen) we may not be able to let him go! :)

Paco was very scared when we got him from the vet, but he was also very doting on people and didn't show signs of aggression, as the Shelter had initially reported to the Rescue Group.

Paco doesn't want to touch his water though, and actually hasn't 'eliminated' yet... but Sonya says this sometimes happens when new pets are in a new environment...

OF course i had to put a little video together to share some cute moments from our first day:

Video: My Name Is Paco

Here goes...

You know that feeling when you're going up a roller coaster... and you know what's coming, and you don't necessarily know why you got yourself into it, but you're stuck now and there's no turning back?

Well, i wanted to rescue a boston terrier, and a few weeks later I get The Call! In an hour we'll be picking up Paco... an owner surrendered, very frightened and probably very needy young boston mix.

I think this is his picture on Pet Harbor:

Let's hope we learned enough from all the books, online articles and hours of watching Dog Whisperer! :)

Today's beverage...

Slurping down one of these So-Good-For-You Caramel Frappe's from a nearby coffee shop...

It's actually a bit too sweet though, so i should remember not to get this one next time...

Hi Sonya!  This blog post email worked! :)

By the way...

I'm just playing with some cool Blogger functionality of emailing posts to my Blog!

Now i'm testing its ability to post a picture!  Lets see shall we?

I met this doggie today.  What a cutie!

Sunday already....

Can't believe the weekend is almost over.  But at least I passed 100 points in bowling! :)

Getting Lost ...

This guy is starting to take the top spot of my "Most Unliked" character on Lost.

Currently Ana Lucia is still topping that category though.

And this guy was done being on the 'nice guy on the inside' character...
But he's Sawyer, so he's forgiven. For now.

Where did you go my little hubcap?

Yet another thing people take for granted, when they have tires with hubcaps. I walked to my car one morning and there it was ... an ugly rusty black metal was staring back at me where there was once a shiny silver hubcap.

Where did you go mr. Hubcap? I hope i didn't run over a bump too hard and knocked you off into the alleys of Lostville. I hope that smushed up roadkill-of-a-hubcap i saw on Burbank, wasn't you. Wherever you are... your 3 other brothers sure do miss you. (And boy does my car look beat up without a rear hubcap!) sigh.
